  121. Welcome to the Tampa Bay Amiga Group's Disk of the Month. This disk is a
  122. collection of some of the best Public Domain & Shareware Software available
  123. for the Amiga. There is no charge for these programs and may be given away
  124. freely. If there are any files on here that are not in the Public Domain or
  125. Shareware, let us know so we can remove them.

  127. If the Amiga is your first computer then getting use to the Workbench
  128. environment was probably rather simple. Now don't get me wrong, there is
  129. alot to learn about it, but using the mouse & icons was an easy concept to
  130. grasp. You click a picture that represents the task you want to perform,
  131. the program is loaded, and your up and running.
  132.

  134. The TBAG disk have been a very popular collection. Second only to the Fred
  135. Fish disk in Europe & Australia and really starting to catch on here the U.S.
  136. as well. The format I have used for the past few years has received alot of
  137. comments, but I was getting tired of the same old thing so decided to vamp it
  138. up a bit. Thanks to Leo Martin for helping with the graphics. The new setup
  139. takes advantage of both cli & workbench files in a very easy to use format.
  140. The new program is called the Activator and docs on how to use it are in this
  141. directory. I have also enclosed in this directory doc files on other PD files
  142. that we use on a regular basis. I thank the authors of these programs for
  143. giving the disk that certain something!
  144.  
  145. Now for the Multi-tasking set up. You will notice that all the windows open
  146. at the same place. This leaves the rest of the screen open to use disk icons
  147. and to move files from drawer to drawer via the icons. To see the different
  148. windows simply use the front & back gadgets to flip from window to window.
  149. This disk is set up for Dos 1.2 so it has a Ram Disk icon. Frequently used
  150. files may be moved into the ram window for super fast access. Programs such
  151. as picture files can be loaded, then using the front & back gadgets you can
  152. flip through the different screens. This set up takes full advantage of the
  153. front & back gadgets. Once you get use to this format you can set up all
  154. your Workbench type disk this way. Just replace the files in the drawers
  155. with your own selection of programs and rename the drawers to suit your
  156. needs. If you have a two drive system you can have both disk set up the
  157. same way. The more memory you have the more useful the format becomes.

  160. Now if you owned a computer before you are more familiar with how to work
  161. in the CLI environment than Workbench (unless you owned a Macintosh). Now
  162. alot of people just stick to CLI and never take advantage of Workbench.
  163. Most say the reason is they can't do everything they need to do from
  164. Workbench. Truth is, Habits are hard to break. You get set in your ways,
  165. but with programs such as Dirutil that takes the place of many CLI commands,
  166. this is slowly changing. As the Workbench environment gets more efficient
  167. more people will start using it. Our format gives you the best of both
  168. worlds. Taking advantage of all the Workbench options plus a CLI window you
  169. can enter those needed keyboard commands.
  170.
